Snake Appears in Toilet, Bites Man in Penis

A man was rushed to a hospital after a snake bit his penis while he was relieving himself in a toilet, according to hospital officials in Israel.

The man, 35, of northern Israel was bitten on Friday after the snake suddenly appeared from inside the toilet. The man suffered minor injuries.

Magen David Adom rescue workers responded to the scene and took the man to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, where he received medical treatment. An examination revealed that the snake was not poisonous.

The man told emergency workers that this all happened after he went to the bathroom to relieve himself and suddenly felt a strong burning sensation in his penis.

One of the paramedics said the man told him that he has seen the snake and the snake was very small.
According to the paramedic, despite the location of the injury, the man managed to stay calm and even had a laugh with workers at his own expense.

Hiker photographs bear just before fatal grizzly attack

(CNN) -- A southern California man killed by a grizzly bear in Alaska's backcountry was shooting photos of the animal that killed him just moments before the attack, a National Park Service official said Sunday.
The bear that killed Richard White, 49, was still with his body when rangers found him in Denali National Park on Saturday, the official said.
The San Diego resident had been backpacking alone for three nights when he was mauled to death by the bear, according to a park service statement.
Photographs found in his camera revealed that White was watching the bear for at least eight minutes near a river before the attack.
"The bear was generally unaware that he was there until the last couple of shots, then his attention turned," park spokeswoman Maureen McLaughlin said.
The photographs "are not that demonstrative" and show "nothing graphic, or any showing major signs of aggression," McLaughlin said. "We're not sure what happened after the camera was put down."
State troopers, park rangers and wildlife biologists, using the photos to identify the "large male bear," shot and killed the animal as it was still "defending the kill site along the Toklat River as the recovery team attempted to reach White's remains," the park service said.
A necropsy of the bear Saturday night confirmed it was the animal that killed White, the statement said.

Alaska hunter mauled by bear survives 36 hours in wilderness

(CNN) -- A hunter mauled by a bear in Alaska survived 36 hours in the remote wilderness before rescuers using night-vision goggles found him, the Alaska National Guard said.
The man, who was part of a guided hunting party, was attacked about 35 miles north of Anaktuvuk Pass. Helicopter rescue teams tried to reach the man several times, but had to turn back due to dense fog and weather, the Guard said.
The hunter suffered significant blood loss but was stabilized by a medical professional who happened to be in another hunting group, the Guard said.
"The pararescuemen credit him for saving the man's life. He provided expert care with limited resource for several hours, ultimately stabilizing, warming and rehydrating the victim," Air Force Master Sgt. Armando Soria said.

Bear Kills Oil Worker in Canada

(CNN) -- A bear attacked and killed a worker at an oil sands plant in western Canada Wednesday, authorities said.
The attack took place at a Suncor Energy base plant, 200 miles north of Edmonton. The female employee was killed by a mature male black bear in the North Steepbank Mine, described as a "remote part of the main plant," CNN network partner CTV reported.
"We are shocked by this very unusual incident and there are no words to express the tragedy of this situation," said Mark Little, a Suncor executive vice president. "All of us need to focus on personal safety and I would urge everyone to be extremely vigilant in dealing with wildlife."
The company said the woman's name won't be released without the consent of the family. Suncor said is cooperating with "appropriate authorities and will complete a full investigation" into the incident.
Between 1900 and 2009, 63 people were killed in 59 black bear attacks in Canada and the United States, according to a 2011 Journal of Wildlife Management report. The study concludes that as human populations and developments rise, so have bear attacks.
The bear in the Wednesday attack was put down.

Pit Bulls Nearly Rip Face Off 6 Yr Old Girl, Mom Beats Dogs Off With Bats

Zainabou Drame, 6, had been playing with a group of friends when she wandered away. While the child was alone, two pit bυlls who belong to a neighbor attαcked her.
When the girl’s mother, Tanina Drame, learned of the attαck she grabbed a bat and ran to the scene where she began beαting the pit bυlls in the head with a bat.
“The pit bulls had my grandbaby by the face and they were dragging her up the street,” the girl’s grandfather, Leslie McElrath,  said on Thursday. “My dog (Cappuccino) and her momma beαt those dogs off my baby. That is how she is still alive.”
Even though Cappuccino is a small dog, McElrath says the dog joined the fιght in an effort to save Zainabou.
Although the girl’s life was saved, the pit bυlls had already caused her severe injury.
“They had to basically put her face back on,” McElrath said.
